Most accessories made for the G01 X3 will not fit the G45 X3 without checking. The G45 is a new generation (2024 onward), with a different dashboard, door cards and console, so fitment is chassis specific. Start with parts listed for G45, and treat any G01 listing as a mismatch unless it names the G45.
What accessories fit the BMW G45 X3?
The G45 range is still young, so the choice of aftermarket parts is smaller than for older X3 generations. The common categories are interior trim covers, console and storage organisers, protective films and exterior styling pieces. Everything we list for the car sits in the BMW X3 G45 (2024+) collection.
When you browse, look for the chassis code in the title and the fitment table, not just "X3". Many listings say "for BMW X3" and are really cut for an older car. If the code G45 is missing, assume it is not confirmed for your car.
Do G01 X3 parts fit a G45?
Usually not. The G01 X3 ran from 2017 to 2024 and the G45 replaced it. The two cars share a name and a rough size. They do not share an interior layout, and trim pieces are moulded to a specific panel shape.
Some small items can be the same: a universal seat gap filler or a generic phone mount base is not tied to a panel. But anything that clips over, replaces or hugs a panel is chassis specific. That covers gear selector covers, door handle caps, console trays, screen protectors and switch covers.
You can see the problem in our own G01 range. The Centre Console Storage Tray is listed for G01 and other chassis. It is not a G45 part. The screen protector is cut for the G01 and G02 display, and the G45 screen is a different shape. Do not buy either for a G45.
Quick comparison
| Part type | G01 listing on a G45 | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Screen protector | Will not match the display | Buy only a G45-listed one |
| Console tray or organiser | Console shape differs | Check the G45 fitment table |
| Gear selector or switch covers | Controls are laid out differently | Do not mix chassis |
| Seat gap fillers, phone base | May work if truly universal | Check the dimensions |
Which G45 interior plastics scratch easily?
Owners on forums such as Bimmerpost talk about gloss and piano black surfaces around the console, centre area and door cards. That matches how these finishes behave on most modern BMWs. Glossy black plastic shows fine scratches and dust marks quickly, especially where keys, rings and phones rest.
We have not tested G45 trim ourselves, so we will not name which panels are worst on your trim level. Look at your own car in daylight. The panels you touch most, and the ones near cup holders and the console tray, are where wear starts.
Is a wrap or cover better for piano black trim?
It depends on the panel and on what you want to fix.
- Clear film: protects a new panel from scratches. Fit it before wear starts. Edges and curves need patience.
- Coloured or carbon-look wrap: changes the look. It hides light marks but will not repair deep scratches under it.
- Clip-on cover: cuts to the exact panel shape and can be removed. It only works if it is made for the G45 panel, so fitment matters most here.
Whichever you choose, clean the panel first. A wrap over dust or existing scratches shows every flaw. Do not use a heat gun near airbag covers or electronics, and have a professional handle anything near an airbag.
What changed between G01 and G45 interiors?
The G45 uses a newer dashboard design and a newer infotainment screen setup than the G01. Panel shapes, door cards and the centre console were redrawn. Some switchgear and controls were also moved or changed.
We do not list exact dimensions here because they vary by trim and market. What matters for buyers is simple: panel outlines changed, so a part that clipped into a G01 will not sit right in a G45. Compare the part's fitment photo against your own panel before you order.
If your car is the electric iX3 launched on the newer platform, that is a separate model. See the BMW iX3 NA5 (2025+) collection rather than the G45 one.
How do I verify fitment before buying?
- Find the chassis code. Our find your chassis guide shows where to look. The registration document and the VIN will confirm it.
- Read the fitment table on the product page, not only the title.
- Check left-hand or right-hand drive if the part is a dash or door piece.
- Check for facelift or trim differences if the listing mentions them.
- If the listing is silent on your chassis, ask us at info@bmwmods.com before ordering.
Our fit guarantee covers a part that does not fit the car shown in its fitment table. If you are fixing a worn panel instead of upgrading, see the worn interior fixes collection.
FAQ
Is the G45 X3 the same as the G01?
No. The G01 ran from 2017 to 2024. The G45 is the next generation, so its interior and body panels are different.
Can I use a G01 gear cover on a G45?
Not unless the listing states G45 fitment. Controls and panel shapes differ between the two cars.
Are your parts genuine BMW?
No. They are aftermarket parts made for BMW. bmwmods is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with BMW AG.
What if a part does not fit my G45?
Contact info@bmwmods.com. If the part does not fit the car shown in its fitment table, we send a replacement or refund under the fit guarantee.
