Most M3 F80 and M4 F82 / F83 owners start with gloss black or carbon look exterior pieces: a boot lid spoiler from around €97, a front lip from around €172 and a rear diffuser at around €172, at the time of writing. After that come lights, such as GTS-style tail lights for the M4 at around €476, and cheap fixes for worn door pulls and window switches from around €18 to €32.
Know your car before you order
This guide covers three body codes: the F80 M3 saloon, the F82 M4 coupé and the F83 M4 convertible. There was no M3 Touring in this generation. The cars were facelifted (LCI) in 2017, which brought revised lights front and rear, so some lighting and interior parts come in separate pre-LCI and LCI versions. If you are not sure which you have, our explainer on telling LCI and pre-LCI cars apart walks through the differences.
The bumper question matters more here than on any other 3 or 4 Series. The M3 and M4 have their own M bumpers front and rear, different from both the standard and the M Sport bumpers on the F30 and F32. F30 and F32 M Sport lips and diffusers will not fit. Every bumper part in this guide names the F80, F82 or F83 in its title, and those are the only ones we recommend. Boot spoilers are also sold per body, because the saloon, coupé and convertible boot lids differ, so pick the listing that names your exact car.
You can see everything we list for these cars in the 4 Series and M4 collection.
Exterior styling
Boot lid spoilers
A boot spoiler is the cheapest visible change and the easiest to fit. Most sit on the rear edge of the boot lid with double sided tape. You clean the paint thoroughly, use adhesion promoter, line the spoiler up with masking tape before peeling the backing, then leave it for a day before washing the car.
Choose by body code first, then style. On the M3 saloon, the M Performance-style gloss black spoiler for the M3 is a low, tidy shape at around €106. M4 coupé owners usually go for the M4-style gloss black spoiler for the F82, also around €106. For the convertible, the PSM-style carbon look spoiler for the M4 F83 is around €97 and has a taller, sharper lip. Carbon look is a printed finish, not real carbon fibre.
Front lips and rear diffusers
A front lip adds a splitter line under the M bumper. Before ordering, check the underside of your bumper for damage or old lip holes, and be honest about your driveway: a lip lowers ground clearance at the front. Fitting usually means screws into the bumper underside, sometimes with a few new holes, plus tape along the top edge. The CS-style gloss black front lip is around €172, and the three piece style gloss black lip for the M3 and M4 is around €206. Both fit all three body codes.
At the back, the gloss black rear diffuser for the M3 and M4 is around €172 and replaces or covers the lower section of the M rear bumper around the quad exhausts. Check that your car still has the standard exhaust tips, since a different exhaust can change the spacing. Fitting is done from underneath, ideally on ramps.
CS-style bonnet
The CS-style bonnet for the M3 and M4 is the big job on this list at around €792. It arrives unpainted, so budget for paint matching, and you will need to move over the latch parts, insulation, seals and washer jets. Our view: treat it as a bodyshop job unless you have done panel work before.
Lighting
The GTS-style tail lights for the M4 are around €476 and change the rear more than any spoiler. They fit the F82 and F83 only; the M3 saloon uses the F30 tail light shape. Lights like these normally plug into the original connectors, but aftermarket lights can sometimes need coding to clear bulb warnings, so send us your VIN if you are unsure.
The LED headlight pair for the M4 F82 costs around €1,005. Check which headlights your car has now and whether it is pre-LCI or LCI before ordering, as wiring and connectors can differ. Swapping headlights on these cars means taking the front bumper off.
H21W LED reverse bulbs for the M3 are around €21 a pair, and white LED number plate lights are around €15. Both are a few minutes with a trim tool.
Worn interior fixes
The M3 and M4 share most of their cabin parts with the F30 and F32, and they wear in the same places. Door pull handles go sticky or peel, and the door pull handle covers for the F80 and F82 at around €18 clip over the old ones. On the M3 saloon, worn or faulty switches can be replaced with the driver's window switch for the M3 at around €30; the coupé and convertible use a different switch layout, so check before ordering.
In the centre console, the cup holder insert is around €23. If you want the cup holder lit at night, there are two versions: the pre-LCI cup holder ambient light at around €19 and the LCI cup holder ambient light at around €29. Ordering the wrong one is the most common mistake here, so confirm your build date first.
Parts held in our EU warehouse usually arrive in about 4 to 8 working days within the EU; the rest ship from Asia and take longer. If a part does not fit, our fit guarantee explains what happens next.

Where to start
- Fix what is worn inside first: door pulls, a tired window switch or the cup holder insert. It is cheap and you see it every day.
- Swap the reverse and number plate bulbs to LED for a few euros.
- Fit a boot spoiler for your exact body code.
- Add a front lip, then a diffuser if you want the rear to match.
- Leave tail lights, headlights and the bonnet until last, when you know how far you want to go.
Many of the interior parts are shared with the 4 Series, and our F32, F33 and F36 buying guide covers more of them.
FAQ
Will an F30 or F32 M Sport front lip fit my M3 or M4?
No. The M3 and M4 have their own bumpers, so lips and diffusers made for the M Sport or standard F30 and F32 will not fit; only buy bumper parts that name the F80, F82 or F83.
Is a carbon look spoiler real carbon fibre?
No, carbon look is a printed pattern on a plastic part; it looks like carbon from a normal distance, but if your car has genuine carbon roof or trim, gloss black is usually the better match.
Do the GTS-style tail lights fit the M3 F80?
No, they are made for the M4 F82 coupé and F83 convertible, while the M3 saloon uses the F30 tail light shape.
Can I fit the CS-style bonnet myself?
It is possible if you are used to panel work, but it needs painting and the latch parts, seals and washer jets moving over, so most owners have a bodyshop paint and fit it.
